September 20th, 2012

Today we had the opening ceremony! (It was optional for exchange students, but I am very glad I went). We were told to go in out national dress, so ... i did not have many clothes and decided that in the US... our national clothes are Jeans and t-shirts. :P... So that is what I went in. (I felt so out of place :\... but it is OK )
The ceremony was SO funny and amazing... well only after all the talking and applauding for all the speakers. (They were impressive). SO many people were in the Millennium Hall (that is where it was held at.. ) The press was there too! (They were all over the place).
There was a performance of Gandom Style from the question aids. They were very good!! There was also a skit that was imitating twilight while giving us all information on student organizations and registration assistance day. It was hilarious!! :P There was performances from many of the cultural student groups, who preformed music and dancing choreography's. The performances appeared to be perfectly executed it was impressive! (I took SO many pictures that my camera battery died (it was full when i got there)!
Afterwards, we all took pictures and conversed out side. We grabbed lunch in the cafeteria and I met a Korean guy who spoke English very well. His name is Kevin. He wore a traditional Korean out fit which is called, well in English is sounds like it is spelled Hambo (i am near positive that it is not spelled that way). He was very nice.
After lunch we all went to AP house 1 and sat on the tatami set up :) It was SO pretty.
I was so sad my battery died :(. But it was OK.
At night time, I wanted to hang out with Shannon (from Hawaii), because I had not seen her for a long time. (The night before when I hung out on the 4th floor, one of the Japanese guys told me that there is a better view of Beppu by the bridge.) So Shannon and I went walking all the way to the bridge:)!! It was SO pretty!! But dark too. I am glad Japan is safe. We took lots of pictures. :) It was about 9:30pm by the time we returned to AP House II. I went with her to her room. Then we were on our way to my room, but stopped by floor 4 ( they told me to come back) and said hi, for a short while. It was kind of awkward for some reason. SO ... i went back to my floor. Shannon was so sweet to give me Macadamia Chocolates from Hawaii!! :O! She told me i could share with people! So when i got to my floor, I shared with my RA's who were cleaning the kitchen. And i ate two on my room while skyping my parents :P.

Verse(s) of the night:          Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky  as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.  So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
